Day 1: Arrival & Embarkation

Location: Departure port (Ushuaia, Argentina or Punta Arenas, Chile) Activities:

  • Meet & greet by our travel team upon arrival.
  • Pre-departure briefing and orientation.
  • Gear check and issued polar expedition clothing if required.
  • Embarkation on the cruise ship.
  • Welcome dinner and meet your expedition crew.
  • Begin sailing through the Beagle Channel or fly to King George Island (if air-cruise).

Overnight: On board the expedition vessel.

Day 2: Crossing the Drake Passage / South Shetland Islands

Activities:

  • Full day at sea (Drake Passage) or exploring the South Shetland Islands if flying in.
  • Educational presentations by polar experts onboard.
  • Wildlife spotting: albatrosses, petrels, and potentially whales.
  • Scenic views and photography sessions from deck.

Overnight: On board the expedition vessel.

Day 3: First Antarctic Landing (Antarctic Peninsula)

Activities:

  • First landing on the Antarctic mainland (subject to weather).
  • Excursions by Zodiac boats to places like Neko Harbor, Cuverville Island, or Paradise Bay.
  • Hiking, wildlife encounters (penguins, seals).
  • Optional activities: kayaking, photography workshops.

Overnight: On board the expedition vessel anchored near shore.

Day 4: Continued Exploration

Activities:

  • Morning and afternoon landings at new sites (e.g., Port Lockroy, Danco Island).
  • Visit research stations or historical sites.
  • Glacier walks, ice floe cruising, and penguin viewing.
  • Farewell dinner onboard with final recap by expedition leaders.

Overnight: On board the expedition ship.

Day 5: Return & Disembarkation

Location: Return to port or King George Island (air departure) Activities:

  • Disembarkation and farewell from the crew.
  • Flight or sail back to South America.
  • Transfer to local airport for departure flights home or extended stays.
